Renault today issued the first teaser photograph of the new 2010 Megane Coupe-Cabriolet. British sports car specialist AC is back and teaming up with fabled Italian coachbuilder Zagato to create the new AC 378 GT Zagato, the first all-new AC for some time. The company has had an on-off relationship for much of the past decade, with production switched abroad, management changes and a confusing product line-up. But new management has been installed and are hoping to make a fist of AC Cars, one of the world's oldest car brands.
Volkswagen will build the radical 313mpg XL1 eco cigar in 2013, Ferdinand Piech revealed at the Qatar motor show. In an interview with Automotive News, the VW chairman said: 'We want to go into series production with this car starting in 2013.' He insisted it would go on sale to real people, not just as media demonstrators. And VW chief exec Martin Winterkorn added the XL1 would be sold in Europe first, then be rolled into the US and Chinese car markets.
